are my EGT's to high?

With more or less whats listed below. stock 215 injectors/pump. 100 plate about center, sps62, stock 181 DV's and a 3kgsk. at about 65mph I run 800-900 degrees normal driving without hualing. If I punch it the EGTs climb as the tach climbs. By 3000rpm I can be at 1400 degrees. This makes me concerend about putting in the DDP4's now that the truck seems to be running right, although hot.

Seems a little high. On my VP44 truck, cruise EGT's are around 700 (In cold weather) You should have enough turbo to keep it cool. Maybe plugged intercooler or boost leak???

Sounds about right to me.

That SPS62 is going to run marginally higher EGT at cruise, at it's not efficient at making the airflow you're asking of it at 3K rpm and 45psi.

Not to mention how poorly a 12V head breathes.

It all seems consistent to me.

Wow, mine ran around 2-3 psi on the highway. EGT's are the same as yours though.

Is your pyro post turbo, or are all the roads your drive downhill? Even stock, my EGT's were 650-750 on the highway at 110-130 km/h.

Looks like we have pretty similar setups.. Those temps are identical to mine. The DDP3's put the EGT's into orbit on a WOT romp up to 3K Rpm in 3rd, 4th or 5th. I have my boost set about the same too.

I was starting to wonder if my fuel plate was still to far forword but it only gives a good puff of smoke if I stomp on it then once the turbo spools up its clean. other then that its always pretty clean. Does anyone else think the ddp4's will just be to much? I think I need larger DV's too to make them run right. The one time I had them in they poped and sputterd alot. A few other's have said they had that problem and had to put larger DV's in.

Have you checked you bypass fuel valve? How much fuel pressure are you seeing at your P7100? I think stock 180dv's are just fine for DDP 4's. But maybe your pump is a little out of calibration or something.

no idea on the pressure. new overflow valve. new filters. all new rubber. cleaned out the heater, new lift pump. some people run fine with 181's. Others needed bigger ones so I dont know maybe it is the pump but I'm certinally not takeing it off to be bench tuned.

before my new pump, I had a stage 5 TST plate and 191 dvs, and at 75 cruising I did about 950-975*. 2-3 lbs boost. when I got on it, at 3000 rpm, I could go to 1600* in a hurry. drove it that way for a year. in november the head was off to put a cometics on with springs and there was still the cross hatching on the cylinder walls and no signs of excessive heat. sled pulling =1850* driving with a work trailer up long hills= 1500-1700*.

with the new pump it drives around 900* at 75mph and 4-5 lbs boost at 4000 rpm I can see 1700* in a quick hurry

I have a set up close to yours and my egts are about the same driving, but I can even get my egts to go over 1150 no matter how hard I try when not hauling. I can get them a little higher with a trailer on, but not much. I still have not figured it out. I think that you are about right.
