Which muffler to use with stacks?

I have found out that my stacks will pass the anuall inspection in ME but I have to have a muffler. I saw this one on ebay:

Any thoughts on this?

I put a similar muffler on because it was too loud for even me. It should take some of the bark out of it. Should still sound nice though.
Here in NJ mine passed inspection with no muffler. Turbocharger is considered a sufficent muffling device here.

I used the Dynomax Ultraflow on mine, took alot of the high pitched "tinny" sound out of the straight pipe, quieted it down some but not alot, sounds mean. I like it :-) Not too bad price wise either. There's lots of options and alot of stores sell the Dynomax line, so talk to someone with some brains behind the counter and they can find one easily that'll fit quite nicely. Mine's only 16" but they had a 20" as well that might quiet it more if you can fit it, but it was a tight squeeze for even a 16" muffler for me, served me well though.

CTD2001,
Yes I am very interested! PM me with the specs and let me know what you want for it. I might be able to just come pick it up.

I finally got them hooked up last night without the muffler and OH MY GOD is that loud. It sounds GREAT!.................A bit too great actually....... I live at the end of a dead end road with a dozen or so houses and I leave at 5:30 AM. I felt really bad leaving this morning. My neighbor across the street says that I am her "Alarm clock". Once I get up to speed it quiets right down to a nice deep hum, I can still hear the engine just fine. Taking off though is just obnoxious!

I'm running straight (no stacks yet, just the downpipe and a 36" piece of pipe behind it) and it sounds awesome. I guess its the size...I'm still at 3"...but it really isn't that loud unless I get into the throttle under load. I absolutely love the sound at 50 mph, just as it locks up the TC and I get into the throttle. I want a manual so I can keep the RPMs lower like that, instead of the TC unlocking or the trans downshifting. I hate not being in control. I have several neighbors, and none complain...in fact, at my old house, a neighbor complimented me on the sound of my father's (same exhaust with a 5-speed) when I was borrowing it. I don't know what will happen at inspection time...I will probably be shopping around for a lenient shop. Funny thing is, I have my state inspection license, but I don't have an approved shop to work out of, so i can't do inspections unless I work for someone else.

Mine was not too bad with the longer stacks turned to the rear but my sons truck with the short stack turned to the side was too loud. But it sounded god.

Dieseldude4X4,
Speaking of stacks (and appologizing for Thread-Jacking), what was the final outcome of your run ins with that pesky State Police?
