The most streetable power possible
I want to know how much power i can make with my 12 valve cummins and still drive it once or twice a week. I would also like to know if any body has used any Buddha Power products? any comments about them? I am pulling in the modified street class at the pulls and need more power! ???

Re:The most streetable power possible
You can check my sig for what I have got and I drive it almost every day about 35 miles each way to work. Oh, I don't HAVE TO drive it (I have a POS $500 Honda) but I LOVE to drive it!!! The only tough part is I need to add an extra throttle return spring, the 4K kit makes the pedal a bit touchy.

JOhn

Guessing by the "(4)" after Jasper I would say they haven't done enough. I think unless you already have them a set of gauges and a better tranny would be the best BOMB at this point. Then more air and fuel.

Just my semi-uneducated opinion.
Re:The most streetable power possible
I drive my truck every day, all over just like any other truck or car. No problems so far and the H.P. is well above what is listed but at this point unknown. See sig.
Bruce

I have seen stupid amounts of money spent on pumps, cams, heads, injectors, turbo's, etc. etc. and be dissapointed with the outcome. If you are to buy parts, buy them from someone that knows how to tell you to set-up your engine, not mail order without a face.

The 12v IMO requires qualified tuners, and many of the names you see on this board are qualified. Give them a call. Jeff Garmon (Garmon's Diesel Performance) is in Atlanta which may or may not be near enough for you. If so, shoot me and e-mail and I will see if we can help.

Good luck. One last note: Big HP and Big weight = Big Breakage!

david is right about "tuning".

the one thing most people don't take into consideration- which is also the most important thing- you need the fuel to atomize. sure, some smoke is good to a point, but adding more fuel doesn't necessarily add more power. you need to atomize that fuel with good injectors and pump timing/pressure.

Tom

Re:The most streetable power possible
Tuning is very important as in that is what determines the final engine output. At May Madness I added more fueling between Fri. & Sat. and actually dynoed at less H. P. I should have reduced the fueling not increased it. I only had the truck running 3 days before leaving for MM and had to do my tuning on the road there.
Bruce

Re:The most streetable power possible
I went from a #4 plate to a Piers Mystery Plate both full forward. I had suspected that I was at max fueling for that set-up. I now have a stock plate in the pump and can still smoke out small counties. I may change the DVs and then go back to a larger plate.
Bruce
