most power out of a #10 plate??
where should I adjust my # 10 for the most power??? right now I have it about 1/8 of an inch from full forward, seems a little smoother there than it did all the way up. might have lost a little down low, but I also adjusted my starwheel back a bit so that might play a little part in the bottom end??? thanks for any info, Dusty

believe it or not I really haven't had any egt problems, with the 18.5 cm housing it's so laggy that my clutch is holding up good also, with my pyro after the turbo I rarely ever see it at anything above 900 degrees, & I have to be loaded pretty heavy to see that, most I've seen so far is 1100, but that was pulling fancy gap mountain on I-77 N with a 24' flatbed & M6800 4x4 kubota tractor & a kubota RTV behind the tractor, & I still pulled it in 5th gear at about 65-70 depending on traffic, I love the way this thing pulls with the big housing, kinda laggy, but sweet out on the big road, really helped the mpg's as well, thanks for the info, Dusty

My plate is full forward, as is the AFC housing. AFC spring is as loose as I can get it, without disassembling the AFC. Doing both of those helps on the bottom end. Smokey, though, at low/no boost and hammering down.

I don't think I wanna grind any off this plate, might find a stocker & make a #100 later on, but for now I don't think I could stand the extra fuel on the top end. has anyone ever really saw a cummins melt for running the egt's past 1250 for short periods of time??? I had a 96' 215hp 3/4 ton & I pulled with it as much as I do my 97' & i had the pyro in the manifold & it was nothing to bury a 1500 # pyro guage & I done this for about 3 yrs. & never done anything to the motor, those #'s were w/ full 4 in. exhaust & a 16 cm exhaust housing, I sold the truck & it's now on it's 4th owner who can be seen at the livestock market every thurs. night hauling cattle to & from the market for himself??? I just figured if one was gonna melt down that poor thing would have been the one to do it. also I often wondered why the pyro is mounted post turbo on nearly all big trucks??? any pete or kenworth etc. with any motor cat, cummins, detroit, they're all mounted post turbo????? just wondered??, thanks for all the info, Dusty
