More Dyno Numbers

Blackdiesel isn't the only one who got on the rollers today.

Figure I'd post my results, I'll let the other Alberta guys post their's if they want. All were on a Mustand Dyno.

With the Smarty on stock software, made 300 hp at 2150 rpm or so. EGT's went shooting up fast, couldn't get a full pull on it. Boost was still 35 psi. Thought the ECM was supposed to pull fuel after 21 psi? They did 4 pulls like this, cutting out at 1400 degrees.

Final pull, put the Smarty on 7. Made 376 hp at 2150 rpm (peak was 56 mph), again cutting it off at 1400 degrees. So had a nice gain of 76 hp with the Smarty at low RPM. Need to clean out the rad and intercooler, hopefully get some more airflow going. Was only able to get a pull from 43mph to 56, I think most were able to go from 30-60. Wonder how much more was in it if it could have gone to 3k+ rpm?

Why'd you stop it at 1400*? Quick bursts over 1300* aren't bad for it. Shoot, on the dyno I peg my EGT gauge and don't even think twice about it. Your not staying hot enough long enough to do any major damage. Now if you stayed in it over 1300* for 30 secs or so then yes I could see major issues but for the quick burst of time that you are over that on the dyno I wouldn't worry about it. Other than that those are some pretty decent numbers.

Not bad at all considering you have a hx35, and I'm sure those temps will come down once you get the htb3 piped in

Who else ran the rollers? Post em up. Graphs would be nice too =P

We weren't running our trucks, the dyno operator was. If something was to go on it, I'd rather be at the helm, so I erred on the side of caution. It did take it a while for it to come down from 800 degrees. I thought they'd let off the throttle and let it coast down, instead of just putting it in neutral, and dropping to an idle. Hopefully next time I'll be able to run the truck, might push it a bit farther. Graph is in my gallery, waiting approval.

As for who ran, it was Lil Dog, Demon, Jack (forgot his user name on here), Swamp Donkey, 03rmk, GreyTD, cLAYH, Greenworks, Kids Toy, Diesel Dave (from dieselram.com), Demodude, and Von Trapp ran the garbage truck. Plus we had a couple dmaxes show up, and a GMC/dodge hybrid.

Personally I found it odd that I put down 242.5 to the rears with a stock engine rated 235hp...................

but baseline none the less.

hell when i go racing i run over 1600 degrees (i peg the 1600 degree pyro once i hit overdrive.. and hold it until 100+MPH.. but thats all less than 6-8 secs.... so i know i'm not gonna melt anything.. You can run a dyno run way over the normal safe towing EGTs

I ran 261HP on the '01 and the only mod was was the Van AAken box, everything else stock.

I did have some sputtering under full load so a new LP will be going in.

Hey Demon, maybe the Smarty stock program gave you a bit more over the original factory software?

Nice numbers! So, I guess the Smarty plays well with the HRVP-44. These are the best results I've seen from a Smarty... to date.
There does seem to be a surprising lack of before & after #'s with just a Smarty. Not sure why?

My original plan was to try about 4 different softwares. I run it all the time on 7, wanted to try 6 to see how much difference timing makes, run it on 2 for just boost fooling, and then stock. Once I get the rad and intercooler cleaned out, I might just go to a dyno for an hour or two and try the different softwares and see how they stack up.

EGT's were my big concern. The operator didn't believe me that it got hot. He hit 1500°F like it was nothing and wasn't even watching the dial. First burst without EGT control was just over 360. But the pedal footing of an inexperienced operator got me 331. If I could have ran it, probably around 340- 350 ish range. The Stock Hx is killing me. My graph isn't worth posting. Looks like the silouette of the mountain range.

did you buy the 98.5 new or used...there has to be something there to make it dyno that much if you bought i used.

im not trying to rain on your parade but no way its gonna dyno 7hp over what it rated at the crack.

my best guess would be some 275 injectors are in it...would put you right at 240RWHP and you wouldnt even know they were there unless you put them in
