Either use a turnbuckle found at any local hardware store or buy a J-hook from any diesel performance place and that will do it!!

The turnbuckle will locked it completely shut.....so depending on where you live that might be bad with over speeding the turbo......32 to 34 psi is about the highest numbers you want.

The J-hook has a spring on it which still allows it to function, but the spring holds it closed longer to get more boots.

In that pic I used a turnbuckle and a spring.......but now I just have a turnbuckle so it's locked shut. It's kind of a bugger to get your paws in there to work.....but it can be done. Some guys take the turbo off but that's to much dang work for me.

You might have to bend the ends of the hooks a little bit to fit right....but once you get started you'll see what you need to do!

I just unhooked the line to the wastegate, get 30 psi pretty easily now. Mine had a rubber hose, though. Some are hard lines, between turbo and wastegate, that's where you need the turnbuckle.

Sounds like the wastegate is still functioning. Try disabling it. Plug or close off the air hose and see what happens. Locking plyers might do the trick for a test run

If that doesn't help then its a boost leak.

i tried to pinch off the hose with a vise grip and still 22 max. today i was driving down a gravel road and had it pinned for a little while and glanced over and my egt was right at 1100*. i think that is a little hot for what little fuel i am adding.
