Monster VP44

Is anyone that has one of these, and not selling them, willing to divulge any information about it?

Do a search on monster vp44 or hotrod vp44. You will find all the information you'll need

The most I can acertain is that it is pretty much a competition only pump. Doesn't sound like it will be very street friendly. Who knows though, they may have been able to refine it some.

lostinwalmart where did you get your pump? did you ever dyno with it? if so what did you see? did you use larger lines and conector tubes?

does the pump only move a higher volume of fuel or does it increase the pressure also, If so I assume you would need to reset the pop off pressure for the injectors?

thanks for info, this is for a compatition only truck

same place as linked above, i have not dynoed, yes larger lines and tubes," the higher volume shows up to higher pressure when you dont have large injectors, the larger lines are supposed to take the difference in pressure and volume so you dont have to get pop offs changed", just what i was told from other people running the pump, not from the manufacturer, so its like third hand knowledge.

what mike told me is that if you buy his pump and his crossover tubes which are .093 fully buillit (sp?) and gorgous, along with his injectors the you wont have any issues and he will warrenty the pump. if u get one go through the site posted above that is the builders site and his truck on the front. he told me that the injectors need to have more needle lift built into them so that the fuel can flow out better, for a stage 2 he recamned 15 over stock which is .018 the injectors he sold me are .045 thousands and very custom made. they have a completly different style of tip and sit lower in the head. before i didnt know any of this i had a set of very lage injectors which im still tryign to figure out what they are nd i ran it with stock lines and tubes. mike says that stock lines are fine with his injectors and tubes. these injectors have beaten 7x18s on the dyno by 59 hp i think is what he told me so they are large injectors but he runs them every day in his truck, the pumps flow more fuel and have a custom gound cam ring in them the stage 2's and 3's floe very similar ammounts of fuel at the high rpm end just the stage 3 its almsot instant and the stage 2 is much more like stock, your best bet would be to call him and ask him all this yourself he is a great guy to deal with.
and i did dyno with the pump but i had a blown head gasket on the dyno, lost close to half a quart of oil on it and i had a bd super b only at the time wich is WAYYYYY to small for my fuel i put down 405 hp and 1034 ftlbs i know #1 cylinder didnt have comperssion and cant say much for the others as well. with my new setup im hoping to beat that by at least 250 hp. this pump fuels like a monster and with the adralines soon the be custom dyno tuneing i think 1k hp on a vp44 #2 is possible , not saying ill be able to do it but some one with more time and money it may be possible (darn collage is expensive) this twins setup ill be making wont have enough air but it will be much much better than before.

Nice post Cliff. You can use stock lines and connector tubes with the stage 2. You can do this only IF you are not trying to beat the pump to death. The injectors that Cliff's using are a different style injector. These are not a modified stock tip. Your hp numbers are correct also. They made 59 more horse power. Mike will not make a stage 3 pump anymore. He told me that there was not enough gain over the stage 2 to justify the cost. Btw Cliff did you get your pump back on yet??

you know i like the pump and i have a large set of his injectors etc everything needed but the pump fuels so much that if i try and run through a intersection the truck will die, you have to come on slow but it does move more fuel and my idle does move around pretty good very annoying with a tighter converter, i also thought that he doesnt run one on his personal truck. he is a super smart guy and makes alot of custom parts, for the major companys out there, suprisingly enough he is into the 1000+ hp realm , on #2. the engine is a engineering marvel in my opinion, everything was hand built, completely custom his pistons, crank, connecting rods are sweet his pump are sweet, injectors reasonably priced and completely custom, he beleives in running more head than needle etc, he knows diesels inside and out and then some.

I can't afford his pump at this time, but I wonder how his injectors compare to the big name companies...I'd be willing to give him a shot on some BIG sticks for my truck just to see what they do.
