ok lads it was a disappointing Saturday for the pump and I---I got the truck running on Thursday--now I wanted to be up at the J&H event Thursday to change out the convertor, so you know I wasn't the happiest camper on Thursday--so Friday I drive to work as I can't leave early Friday either, so things are sinkin' fast for me---I hook up my REDLINE and guess what it doesn't work--it's fried---so now I have no box, no looser convertor and just my old original B1 as a set up---so now I know that I won't even be able to show what this pump can do, but all I can do is dyno on injectors---so I did and laid down a whopping 366HP ---pulled off and swapped in the stage 2 and fired it up ---idled rough, but I expected that, but after revving it up the roughness never leaves---now I rev it a few times and we are looking at each like what the *&% is this---turns out the pump has a problem---it won't produce enough pressure to pop #1 injector, but to be sure I take and swap out #1 for #4 injector to make sure it's not an injector---it's not it's a bad pump---so now I have to put back in the HRVP pump----yes I was extremely happy---so that was my test for the new stage 2 pump from Dave's Diesel---BIG FAILURE--I talked to Rick from DD this morning and he's a little surprised and it will be going back for surgery---I have to thank Troy from J&H for being a major help in the swaps and willyslover also---so my luck continues---chris

Man, I hate that for you. We are all hoping this is the Holy Grail or the trail to it for the VP trucks. Hope you can get it ironed out. Keep us posted, Matt

well there are pumps out there working,---but I'll say when I first saw this pump 3-4 weeks ago I/we had our doubts---not about the ability of the pump, but that it would work at all---I just had a gut feeling that something wasn't quite right here---mostly because the wire had been tapped and I was under the impression that all wiring and electronics were new, but I was assured by Rick that he tested it prior to shipping it out----so not much I/we can do and I don't know why he'd lie or send out a pump that had been used, so until I tried it out or my buddy tried it out there was not much we could do---but the bottom line is it didn't work---I or my buddy surely could've slapped it on weeks ago, but the intent was to show guys the real info on the pump, so that's why we didn't do it---the J&H event was the perfect place to do it--lots of witnesses so everyone would know there was no funny stuff---it's really to bad, cuz now it will be tough for me to make this test, so my buddy Adam Winslett will probably do it, just because he's closer to theye dyno and he knows where his truck is with the HRVP, but it will have to wait until we get the pump back and there will most likely only be a handful of people present, but there won't be any BS from Adam that we can be assured of---chris

Is the "Monster VP" a hoax? Does it really exist? And if so, what exactly is different that makes it so mysterious... hmm monsterous?

The pump is real... Darren Smith won the street class at DHRA in Indy.

Well I shipped it back yesterday finally---seems I can't get much done besides work during the day these days---I'm still ticked though---

you can't disregard what Darren has done and then the 11.49 on diesel only by the other guy---I'd say there's something there, but they're not easy to get and guys that do have them are either not saying anything or they aren't internet guys----chris chris

There are a couple of strong pullers around here running them. They are not doing any better with them than the old HRVPs and Lightnings. I will definately keep an eye on them to see if they are consistanty out front, but for now, they are not.

I was pretty set on buying one, but now it is starting to look alot like hype - and that is alot of money to spend if it is not 100% remanned.

truck set up is critical for the stage 2 and 3, so it would be nice to find out how the trucks are set up with lines, crossovers, boxes and turbo......chris

They should be set up to run the Monster VP - big lines, crossovers, and Redline. I won't get into turbos on these trucks, lets just say they are bigger than a SP66 and worked well with the SHO VP's.

Yea, the RPMs is what the guys use the redline for. Face it, wheel speed is alot in pulling. However, I know of guys not using redline. Works just as well from what I have seen.
