around here where i live, its a CUMMINS comunity! i am german speaking, i am decendent from menonites of russia. we live kinda apart from the mexicans... you cant count the dodge diesles here close to where i live!
we by ourselfes imported more then 30 dodge diesels!

the very most of dodge CUMMINS pick ups are illegal here. not a big problem in the state chihuahua! once enough illegal trucks are in, the governer of the state legalices the illegal vehicles in here.

Ok but now it is open, we can import any vehicle but only up to the year 96! below a certain weight! our cab n chasis 3500 dodge wouldnt go in!
and until 2006 there wherent cummins available in dodge trucks. now there are! I think a bit cheaper then in usa! wow! (gotta have a mega cab!

"BUT" our truck is the 1st (maybe the second here around with twins) but not able to drive, cuz of the poping after the gsk. sorry im so desperate!!!!

BUT I NEED IT AND WANA FIX IT NOW!!

i have lots white smoke coming out of the 5"!

is it possible that the timing would slip, after 4 weeks after adjusting it? at starting up???

i would check your timing also, it sounds like it might have slipped, maybe the faster reving cause it to slip. but that would be my first step with your symtoms.

Personally, if it were my truck, I would back up, take a breather, pull the 4k springs, put back the stockers or what you had in there, and see if all is well. If so, you have narrowed down the problem, then start over.

Did you use the new seats provided in the kit? Any chance of some shims in there that you were not aware of being left behind?

How deep was the original set of springs (or how many clicks) and are the new ones at that same depth?

Any change in the idle from old springs to the new? Maybe the arm in the AFC housing is hung up?

AFC arm...my thopughts too. I posted in the other thread he started. Could be a broken boost line to the AFC from removal/installation. My bosses popped like that and had no power....tracked it to the afc. Removed the AFC arm and everything was normal. That's when I found the boost line problem......ittle ol' truck was just in valet mode!!

i did put back in stock 215 gsk, it was the same, i modified the dept of the springs (a few clicks less-the worse! a few clicks more- the same!)

we advanced timing, it got better, but never like it should and no power at all!
OK if i will rev it up slowly, it would go to 3000 but then pressing the pedal totally down, it starts shuttering and poping an lots of white smoke!

now we changed the whole injection pump, for another 215 pump. the problem persists! isnt it the pump then????????????????

WHAT IS IT???

TOMORROW'S XMAS EVE AND I GOTTA GET IT DONE!

Really sounds like a air leak it the fuel system. I would check all the lines and connections and if any look quesionable, replace them. My truck did the same thing, I ended up replacing every rubber line from the tank to the pump and even by-passed the fuel heater, by running staight to the lift pump. There's my two cents worth, goodluck Darl Absher III

i dont think ive done something wrong, since i checked it again, everything seemed right. anybody could tell me the problem???? Cant use the truck like this! Just finished the twins today! cant use them like this!
Thanks for the info

im suspecting timing as everyone else, being i just got a 4K kit in myself, i guess i shouldnt be revving my engine hard. i dont want slipped timing, and honestly i just got mine in today (well finalized) didnt go so well, but its in.
Ill post back tomorrow with info on mine. It just downright frustrated me, not hard, just tedious and i guess a bad day, well, yeah thats it...

Regardless, if i take on a gsk again, im better prepared.. i see why u guys do many of them, practice makes perfect....

yestrerday, we advanced he timing a whole lot, and it got better, pressing the pedal slowly, it would rev up to 3000, but then pressing it totaly down, it started blowin white smoke and shuttering a lot!

and the truck had NO power at all. the funny thing is it smoked black, but the turbo never spooled up! i dont think the turbo(s) causes that problem, cuz reving it up ampty it misses so bad!

then we changed the complete inj pump, setting both timing pins, its the same ol story! (dont have a timing kit!) we've done it often like that!

if its not the pump what is it?

Have you checked for air in the fuel lines from the tank through to the pump?

Could it be injectors?

Hope you get it figured out soon!

NOW IT WORKS!!!!!!

found the problem! i cleaned the air intake from the inside, (just before replacing the gsk) to see if it would get dirty, with some cleaning towels at once, one was left inside, and clogged before (on) the turbo blades it got only bout 5% of air, to burn that much 215 fuel!!!

hope to have a happier xmas now...

thank's to y'all for the replies and for the friendly help! i tried what you suggested, untill it was something completly else...
