Mirrors

Re:Mirrors
The bases are different so they won't directly bolt up.
However, the heads are interchangeable, so a few have bought a set of each, disassembled them and swapped heads.
I have sent several e-mails to Dodge asking why they can't offer these mirrors for the 2nd gen trucks.
Their response,....not enough interest. :

Re:Mirrors
**cough** Not enough interest??! I'd love to have a set of those new mirrors on my '99. Sure beats slipping on those tiny PIA trailer mirrors every time I hook up.

So if there wasn't enough interest, why are they available on 3rd gen trucks? What a bunch of crap from Dodge.
I'm sending my email...

Re:Mirrors
I just bought a replacement for my 02, flip up style-non power
from this outfit http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/. Their price was $75.36 each side. 2 local dealerships told me I'd have to buy both sides - prices were over $250. Anything I looked at on their site looked to be priced reasonably. Try a search on their site or call them. Parts managers name is Larry.

Re:Mirrors
I just had both side mirrors replaced by Dodge. Heat didn't work so they replaced the whole thing at no cost to me. Still covered by 3/36. I asked the service guy if I could interchange the flip-up heated and power mirrors from an 03. He said that he never heard of such a thing. My question is what do I need to mount heat/power extended 03 mirrors on my truck and is it difficult to do? Do I just need to buy an 03 heat/power mirrors and mount them on my new base? Thanks.
