MBRP w/ muffler deeper than straight pipe?

Is it just me or does the MBRP exhaust with muffler sound deeper than a straight pipe? I was listening to videos on youtube. Like, a straight pipe is definitely louder but the MBRP filters out a lot of the obnoxious noise and just lets the deepness through. Kinda like a low-pass filter on an amplifier. What do you guys think? I don't think I've ever heard a MBRP in person.

I put the mbrp 4" system on an 01 my dad had. it was deeper than stock. my truck has a deeper tone now than it did with a straight pipe but louder no. mbrp makes nice stuff from what ive seen. I like their systems that ive put on they are nicely made. ive got a diamond eye muffler I like it also.

I was thinking the same thing and was going to order the 5" MBRP...wasn't sure if the straight exh (what I have now)would be louder or as you stated, just a deep rumble w/the MBRP? Probably going to do something regardless since the stock pipe is cracking in half before the back hanger.

My truck had dual straight pipes on it when I bought it. I put on a MBRP 4" exhaust and was amazed at how much quieter it was. But it does have a deeper/different sound than the straight pipe. Personally I wouldnt go back to straight pipe now after having the MBRP on there.

Yea I messed up in the title. I meant to say "deeper" instead of "louder." Well I'm trying to decide what to do. I actually like the tone of the MBRP. Frankly, the straight pipe is too loud sometimes. I have my exhaust aimed right out the side of my truck, which points directly in the face of the driver in a car to my right. If I pass by a cop with his windows down then who knows... But MBRP's "muffler" isn't much of a muffler, so I guess that's why you still get a nice sound out of it.
