MBRP or Magnaflow?

Getting time to add 4" T409 SS exhaust. These two are basically the same price (< $500 with tip) and I'm deciding which one. They both have the hangers welded on, which I like. I do know the Mag has 3.5" downpipe. Magnaflow says it's better than 4". I haven't seen any hard data to refute this. Heck they're all choked at the elbow anyway. I've been imnpresed with Magnaflow on a couple gassers I've had.

Which way would you lean and why? Which one is quieter? I like the "whoosh" of the big diesel pushers. Straight pipe is just way too loud (been there).

I need to add an exhaust brake (going for BD unit) and figured I'd do the exhaust at the same time.

Give those options, I'd choose Magnaflow, but I think either system would work VERY well. With the stock turbo, the 3.5" dp is plenty, and the 4" dp won't add much.

And when/if you DO upgradethe turbo, you'll need a different DP anyway, so no harm there.--jh

I had that Magnaflow system on my last truck and it was great.
Good sound and no drone. I dont think you can go wrong with either system.

I have the magnaflow and love it, simple install and very quiet...maybe even quieter then stock...deeper but quiet. I recommend an inline brake so you can make future changes as necessary and you will have the piece of pipe you remove to install it to use as a repair piece if you ever need it serviced.

I've got MBRP and its sounds good when I can hear it over the motor. With that said I'll probably get a sneaker series 'muffler' on before long. I miss the straight pipe
