i went with the 4" magnaflow and the muffler is just "straight thru". most my miles are interstae miles with windows up and air conditioner or heater on. never been troubled by cab noise.
if it gets to loud "crank up the stereo"

I've got the MBRP stainless steel 4 inch, it's muffler is flow through as well. I beleive interior cab engine noise while driving is actually less than with the OEM stock system. No more back pressure.
I really don't know any differences between both systems. On this SS version, the hangers are welded to the pipe vs. clamped, and the install was fairly straightforward. It took me, by myself less than 4 hours to remove the old, and install the new system.

Hi guys,
Haven't been here for a while and thought I'd get your opinions
since I'm buying exhaust very soon.
Looking at these same systems (and Rip's) and wondered about the dreaded drone
and 3.5 down pipe and if you think it affects Egt's or other.

mbrp and magnaflow are very similar. They are two of the easiest kits to install and their stainless kits are very resonably priced. The only significant difference is that the MPRP kit comes with a 4 inch downpipe and the magnaflow is 3.5 inch. On a truck that is mildly modified this isn't going to make much difference. In fact you will spool the turbo faster on the 3.5inch downpipe. I sell both brands and would recommend either of the two.

one note on stainless, go for the better grade, as the less expensive grades tend to rust quick. Also be real specific with your year truck, 04.5 vs 03 -04 or you will be layin under your rig muttering words you don't want the kids to learn..... I have the magnaflow and love the sound.
