max stock plate hp?

going into my pump pretty quick here to put in a 4kgsk and was thinking of sliding existing stock fuel plate all the way forward while im in there for some more fuel. how much hp would that give me over stock? anything noticeable or should i just leave it be? reason for not changing fuel plate at the same time is a) i dont have one and b) i like to do mods one step at a time and monitor how the truck responds to them....

If you plan on towing any thing the 4 Gsk will not be the correct choice. Seems it will give you a touchy throttle (jumpy) . I bought the 4 gsk spring as a kit but left out the one center spring to give me 3 gks. I have a 10 plate and see 36 lbs boost , My truck pulls my fiver along with not much loss on the hills. my pyro never gets over 1100 towing and I like the fact I don`t have to worry about it. I put the 10 plate in the stock position and have not moved it full forward. I see you have a 5 spd and I think you will not like the 4 gsk. Thy a 10 plate and the 3000 gsk and I think you will like the power.

i know i can leave the center springs out to make a 3k kit n i might play around with that. the question was more on how much i will get with the stock plate fully forward. i don't tow at all really so its all about power and fun

If you like to do one mod at a time, moving the plate seems contrary to that.

Now if you after more power, either pull the plate out and grind it to a profile you desire, or just pull it out entirely. I don't know how much power you can get with the stock plate full forward, but really, it seems pointless since its not that great of a curve to begin with. If you want power, yank the plate.

well i guess u found a technical glitch in my plan lol i was originally gonna pull the plate entirely but then did some searching and apparently its not a good idea? horror stories about going way too hot too fast and some kinda pin that wears and if it breaks then it causes big pump problems? don't wanna sacrifice any pump reliabily over the cost of a fuel plate......

Stock plate full forward is good for about 50 hp.
If you don't tow just remove the plate entirely.

I would just grind the stock one, simple, free, I ground mine to a 100 and no issues towing at all, it works great

If you do a search on here there is pictures of the plate profiles the 100 is very simple, can't really screw it up once you see it

i c. so u just have a #10 plate and you went from 175 hp to 343? sounds very appealing, seeing as i have the intake and exhaust mods to support fuel

Thats old internet rumours. Your AFC is what controls your fueling prior to hitting the plate. If it is smokey/hot before you're at full boost, then that has to do with the AFC tuning, not the plate.

There is also no pin in the pump that will break. Pull the plate, be happy.

well look at that....im pulling the plate lol as for adjusting boost...i have a elbow with a allen head screw in it....i just back that out for more boost? or do i need to buy another elbow for a higher range of boost? my gauge goes to 35 psi so id like to max that out and still have good egts
