Sounds like a classic de-fuel for '01 Auto's....

Maybe that's why the previous owner wanted a 6-speed instead of his Auto?

Check into the "Redline" Fueling box from Blue Chip, Marco's Mad ECM, and the BD R.A.D.

'01's will defuel over 10 PSI boost (and low, or 0 MPH), in 1st gear, 1-2 shift, going into lockup, and I think the 3-4 shift.

Your trucks sounds like it has a more pronounced de-fuel than most others. Could be alot of things. I would guess your race pump would be a big amplifier of the de-fueling.

Don't go P-pump just yet.......

merrick - i have both a mad ecm and a rad in the works right now. The rad will be a temp fix hopefully and the ecm will be the permanet fix if all goes well. I am not going to put on a p-pump.... just a pipe dream

P1698 No CCD Messages Received From PCM

P0217 Decreased Engine Performance Due To Engine Overheating Condition

P0237 MAP Sensor Voltage Too Low

P0234 Turbo Boost Limit Exceeded

P0501 ????

Those are all of my codes. I cleared them all. The 1698 makes sense because i was cutting wire to stop the defuel. Overheat? it hasnt overheated ever.....hmm. Map too low? Overboost is easy - had the comp off the truck for a day

The 501 code is for the speed sensor or vss rational, thats the code set by cutting the white wire w/ orange trace. The 217 tells me that the ecm is thinking that your eng temp is too warm. Coolant temp sensor? Second question are the sensors for the coolant temp and vss( vehicle speed sensor the same on auto's and stick trucks.

Were any of these active codes, and how many times were they set? The scanner will tell you that.

put the RAD on tonight. It took care of all of the defueling. I still need to fix it, i dont like having to flip a switch, lose my tach and have the check engine light come on every time i want to mess around. Hopefully the MAD ecm will help!

Thanks Opie, Merrick, Eric, and Don for all of your help!!!
