Marine Headgasket

Ok guys this is for all of you with a 24v that have replaced you OEM headgasket with a 20 thousandths over marine gasket.

How do you like it?
Does it smoke upon startup?
Any trouble starting?
Loss/gain of noticeable power?

Also please post if you had the head milled and if so how much. Also please post if you have an ETC or an ETH. I have 3 trucks that we are O-ringing and I am considering using this gasket. All of the trucks are between 500-600 HP single charger with boost levels below 60 psi.

Thanks for your input.

Shoot one of the trucks made over 590 uncorrected HP @ 37 lbs boost. This truck is a daily driver that pulls horse trailers all the time. Its nice seeing trucks come together and work well with the right complement of parts.

Mine's +.030 marine.
Shredded the 1st gasket w/ stock bolts, added studs and no problems w/ gasket #2.
Slight haze of smoke under 45°F OAT. Most likely due to the other fueling mods.
Zero problems starting in -5°F, rough idle for the first 30 seconds if not plugged in at that temp.
I don't have any way to judge the gain in HP other than the truck was at 200rwhp before the change and ~600rwhp after.
Brand new head, DonM port & rings.
ETC manual
The gasket that blew was checked for oring depth and sealing quality. It was perfectly sealed on the stock firerings. Two bolts were stretched to .020".

brandon.

If I remeber correctly, HeberRam tried a marine headgasket on his ETH before finally getting the head o-ringed a few years ago. He complained about loss of power.
