What do you consider a good deal? I got mine for 100 bucks or so and I'd do it again, but if you're talking 400 then don't bother in my opinion, it's not a huge difference that I've seen.

well if you get the gear with it, it might be worth it. I don't have any complaints mine was used, and I had to hunt down the gear, which cost me another 50. Since its complete and brand new, I say go for it, what are the piers cams running now? 800? I haven't even checked.

On second thought too, you're dyno'd at 400+ I've estimated mine about 350, and I don't have it timed yet, you may see a bigger difference don't know what turbo you're running. my lag is alot more than a stock truck, but I changed to the hx40 at the same time as the cam, so thats probably a huge part of it.

I drove a truck that had one for a short stretch. it is a cam designed for constant RPM's. WOT. it was very laggy, not quick to spool up lacked power in the lower RPMS like when coming around a corner on a two lane road on a 12% grade it was tough to hold a gear where as my old 12v would have held the gear with the same load. once up to the peak RPM range it ran cooler on the EGT's and worked faily well so as a highway stick it was fine but around town or in the hills where you have to be shifting alot i think there is better options. that said buy it send it in to be reground now you have the bolt on gear and a better grind for all around operation

Let me tell you a little secret. Promise not to tell anybody. .................................................. .

You will get more power from the stock cam that anything else you can use. These super duper mo power thing are just so much junk. I know a truck that gets 761HP on #2 with a cam from a skid steer loader. That was install cause thats all he could fine at the time. Works so well he just left it in there. All the truck around here at 700 HP have the stock cam after trying those super power things. I think there are 3 of those things at the shop now.. In the corner. You just gotta know how to set it and timings.

The 12 valve industial cam has more lift and duration than the stock stick. If I remember right it was .020 on the intake side. Without looking it up.

Yes, most of the current cams are a waste of cash to make more peak HP. You do fatten the curve up some though and can extend the power band.

You will change your mind soon enough about cams.

Since I am running F1 Mach 2.5s in my truck I think it only wise to have an F1 cam to go with it..
