Thumbs up Making H-2 wheels fit a CTD.......

I just got a smoking deal on a set of new SMA Redline Racing Monster 17"x9" H-2 wheels. I just love EBay........ Now my question is, what size hole saw do I need in order to make them fit my truck? Thanks for the help in advance....

I just realized I put this in the wrong section. Sorry guys........

Yes I did a search. I know either a hole saw or routor will do it. But I can't for the life of me find the size of hole saw to use. I have a drill press, now I just need the size to use. Anyone?

I assume you're talking about the center hole? Can you measure the hole on the rims on your truck? Even with a drill press, I'd be leary about trying to drill that out with a holesaw unless you can find a way to use a pilot bit. Are you sure the back spacing on the H2 wheels will work? Just curious.

Yeah the back spacing will work. They're 4.5". And yes, I agree with you on the hole saw and pilot bit issue. But I've read in this forum that this seems to be the most common method to inlarge the center hub hole. And yes I did measure the front and rear hub, but I was just curious if there was a standard size hole to use or just inlarged to fit over the hub?

I'd just haul them off to a machine shop so they could bore them out on a large mill.

I used a fly cutter and a milling machine to do 8 of mine. the hole saw was like 4.75"? but the actual size is something like 4.774" I guess the ossolation or whatever you want to call it of a hole saw makes the hole slightly larger and it works.

you can use a variable speed router set on low with a flush cut bit with guide bearing and use the lip on the rim as a guide. it cuts the hole perfectly and fits just right.
