Tomorrow I'm gonna order my Valair clutch and 300's, hopefully they can beat me home by Thursday. I'm up in the air on the 35/40 hybrid yet. What size turbine comes stock with the stick? I'd look at the truck, but it's 1,000 miles away right now. I was looking at HTT's site, and a complete 35/40 with a 12cm wastegated housing is 985, which doesn't seem all that bad. I've made my mind up that the 300's and a 3K GSK and AFC spring kit are all that's going in it. When this manifold cracks, it will get replaced, but not until then. The goal is out the window, I'm just looking for that little extra and will be happy with it. Do you think the 12 cm is too small for this truck? I like the idea of really quick spooling, but don't EGT's out of control. Truck is used for running around town, some playing, and will rarely tow.

If that is the price for a HX35/40 hybrid I would pass, you can get a HTT 62/12 for not much more and it would spool pretty good. Getting smoke free power on top will come from airflow like a bigger turbo, port work, cam etc. but smoke free down low will come from AFC tuning. If I roll into the throttle and don't mash it until the turbo is fully lit it is not too bad on the bottem end smoke.

I had a 12cm 35/40 hybrid. I don't think it can support 400 USEABLE hp on a 12 valve.

Will the 300 hp sticks, 3K GSK and AFC spring bounce me up much from the 325 it's at now? I've changed my mind, and that's all that will be going in. I'm just looking for that extra 'kick' over what it has now. If I just do the Stage 3 to my stocker, put the 40 wheel and compressor housing on, do you think it would clear up that combo? You've had exprerience with what I'm looking at doing, I value your insight into this. Thanks.

The only thing you really need to buy is a 3 or 4GSK, you can do other pump tweaks that when coupled with a GSK could put you to around 400 hp. If you want PM and I'll tell you what I've done that helped.

But if you did buy 300's, 3GSK and AFC kit you could be very close to 400hp I would think without the tweaks...

I am realy not the guy to ask because I have never had a 215 pump. But I can tell you that with my 175 pump,10plate, 215injectors GSK 15* timming and the hybrid *I* felt I was at the limit of the hybrid for Safe EGT all round. I was pushing mabey 300 and something "ish" hp.

Then I added the taper cut DV's and had more than enough fuel to test the limits of the turbo. With enough fuel to be at around 400 hp that turbo just could not cope with the heat/smoke. I mean yea, I could drive it around and go fast in short bursts but the pyro would always be the limiting factor. Had to watch it like a hawk and constatnaty back out.

You can do it but actualy putting 400hp to the ground and keeping it there for any lenght of time will melt your truck down.

That is just my opinion based on what I have seen with my set up.
