Magnetic Inline Aux Tranny Filter?

Snake Oil or a quality product? Anybody have any experience with one. They go for $20, figure it might be worth a shot, or are all the metal particles mostly in the bottom of the pan?

It could not hurt... never know what might slip past the magnet

I've got a Magnefine inline tranny filter on the Accord. It feels good to have one on there especially since those cars don't even have a tranny filter... I cut it open and there was metal shavings all over the magnet. There is also a filter element inside. It wouldn't hurt to have one on the truck but it already has a filter and magnet in the pan and I have to cut the metal tranny lines so I ditched the idea.

changed the tranny fluid/filter this weekend. What a mess w/out a drain plug. But what I really wanted to see was a magnet at the bottom of the pan w/no metal shavings attached. Well, no magnet at all and I'm guessing it's because it's a rebuilt tranny?

Anyhow I stuck a small magnet to the inside of the pan and reinstalled it all. Hope the magnet doesn't come loose, anyone else done this?

The stock magnet just sits there in the pan too. There's usually a fair amount of metal shavings attached to it.
