Look at all the low temps in this thread- you don't see that from guys running big boxes and smaller sticks. I'm quickly becomiing a fan of big sticks and small box.
OK, tell me now-- who on DTR has ever talked about going with bigger sticks and no wire tap? Gee, I guess it's ME! Going back to, say, 2003 or so, I'd say..hehehe Unfortunately, the search only goes back 500 posts or I'd pull up some REALLY old stuff with me preaching the gospel of bigger sticks and no tap (more fuel and a shorter duration).

Actually, you *ARE* correct that I'd love to have a cam. Lord knows I want a Helix 2.

It's just that the cam costs about the same as the turbo! I WOULD love to see just how far a stock turbo will go. I've been happy with it thus far, and I wonder if it could be made to cool M4s pretty well with some cam help.

Heck, it might even tow!

I talked about not running a fueling box for a while too. After one ride in John_P's 02 with TST comp, that discussion died a quick death.

Not sure about this but, unless that's one of MArco's "special" Catchers with NO timing, I dont think it jives too well with a timing box. Like your comp in ez mode.

Could be wrong, but that sticks in my head for some reason.

You're right Ben, there was a special catcher ecm with no timing changes that would work with the edge comp. That tune would be equivelent to sw8 on the smarty. Truckman- if thats ecm adds timing you either want to return that ecm so you can get a smarty or sell the comp and get a fueling box. Blue Chip and TST both have fueling boxes availible with guages.

Are you saying I should NOT run them both together? It sure does go good with the comp in EZ mode with the ECM.. But I will turn off the comp,,,Also does anyone know if the ECM has a boost fooler in it? If I take the comp out I would like to leave the boost elbow in and dont want the engine light to come on.

Thanks for the help

Talking Comp Off

Comp is off,,And no check engine light,,Seems to still smoke quite a bit with only the ECM. Runs good, This ECM is programed for a automatic trans, Is there anyone out there close to northeast CT with a smarty to program this ECM for a standard for a small fee or are they the same prog? I am also heading to Wilkes Barre PA Monday morning,, That will be the test,Yes I am taking my stock ECM with me... hahahahaha

whoa,whoa,whoa.....whoa

Hold on a second. Catchers were/are vehicle specific. They never were one size fits all.

Meaning year, tranny, fed/calif emissions

I could only sell mine to someone that had an 01.5, manual tranny, federal emissions. same as what I have.

I pretty sure thats how that works.

Could be me, but something isnt just right with your scenario. Like someone wasnt honest with you.

Like I said before, I could be wrong....

Talking It's a Dodge Performance ECM

for low rpm torque (towing and acceleration) and mid range power. This unit has been in use for just under a year in a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 with automatic transmission,,

Thats what it said in the eBay add,, And I put it in a 1998.5 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 5 speed. Runs Great.... And what a Steal..
I dont know if you can get to the auction cause it has ended ,,But here is the short cut,,

Well, if you got it for $100 bucks then it's a good deal. BUT, from the description, I dont believe you got one of Marco's Catchers. Sorry.

OR

This wasn't the original owner of the ECM and he didn't know a whole lot about them and you did score one for $100. BUT, like I said before the Catchers were vehicle specific.

IIRC, there were ECM's that had been tweaked a little out there before the Catcher and thats what I think you got.

If it's working for you and it's not giving the truck fits, then congrats. A kick in the pants for the truck for $100 is good any way you look at it.
