Mach 4's or 5's?

Lets see you saw 1650* wanna bet on how many cracks your head has? I am not saying that you can't run larger injectors but it comes at a cost. To trade a set of 4's for 6's would only cost maybe a couple hundred bucks, cost of a new head is around $1800 and that doesn't include a HG or labor. Pistons also come into play and having to pull and engine bore hone and replace pistons is even costlier.
I have dynoed 4's and 6's back to back with a sps62 and there wasn't any real difference in HP. But the difference in heat was BIG (about 400*-500*) under WOT. So based on this one can run large injectors and get away with it but why?

With my M4.5's and no chip I can hit about 40psi and egt's have a hard time getting over 1100. With the Edge or Adrenaline I haven't seen over 1450 at 55psi. I would at least go for the M5's if not the M6's

I'm with Doug (JetPilot) on this. On my 02, I had Mach 4's and a 64 turbo. I dyno'd 510hp. I put on a set of twins (62/14 over S400), and with no other changes made 565hp. The Mach 4's will supply all the fuel that a 64 will supply air for. I upgraded my Mach 4's to Mach 6+'s and made 638hp, again with the twins. With the Mach 6+'s and the twins I can still hit 1400* on a hot summer day, by the end of the 1/4 mile.
I believe Don will upgrade you Mach 4's to Mach 6's for a price. Much cheap then buying another set. The Mach 4's, IMO, are the best street injectors for a single turbo system. If you tow heavy then a Mach 1.6 is hard to beat. If you have twins and don't tow heavy then go with a Mach 6.
Having said all of that, what I would really recommend is to contact one of the dealers on Don's web site, and ask them. They recommend injectors every day, and get feed back every day. I use Rip at Source Automotive, but I know that anyone on Don's list is a upstanding dealer.

i thought about upgrading my 4's to 6's and it was a lot more than i expected. it was cheaper to sell the 4's and buy 6's.

Wow, thanks for all the replies, and the debate..made for an interesting read.
I don't ever tow, I've towed twice, both times was a 97 eclipse, weighs maybe 3300lbs + trailer so thats almost nothing, at least it felt like it but to how much of a difference would m4's-m5's be, If I were to get twins it'd most likely be summer in '09 as far as which ones I get, I'd have to do a lot of research.
I do have the BD Special, so it is the 64/71 and currently my egts are not an issue at all, the max temp I've seen is maybe 1200 with the special, and with the stock turbo I couldn't even keep the hammer down til 85 from a stop.
I've seen a lot of recommendations for the M4's and some say go bigger, so I suppose I'll have to possibly ask a dealer or read up more comments
I've had my current injectors for close to 3 1/2 years now I think, and they were used before, so I'm sure whichever I get I'll see a huge increase, and will finally have to get on the rollers and time it.

what are dIII rated at? 100hp? 50hp is not a big enough jump IMHO.
i did that and only kept my 4's for a few weeks then got 6's.
MikeD has your turbo on top on a S400 with M7's IIRC.
get the 6's, save on less injector swap
