What can be said about the Mach 1 injector's? Are the 1.6 better?

Thanks

Better is subjective.

The mid sizes gained popularity because it's the largest size you can go short of the pricing of the next size up injector.

So what is the difference? A few horsepower. I would imagine economy would be about the same.

I can tell you from the install I did on a friend's truck that the Mach 1s are great injectors for the money. They feel a lot stronger than the HP rating. My friend's truck was otherwise identical to mine (ho, Edge EZ) and I had 75hp rated injectors.

After installing the M1s in his truck the power was about the same as mine, only his truck had way less smoke and better mpg. He was getting 20-23 hwy mpg with his truck. I was getting pretty much just 20.

They are a very low-cost injector also because of all the things you won't need to get. Your stock turbo will still work, the stock clutch should still hold, etc etc.

They are a great injector if you don't have big HP plans. Super nice for a daily driver that has to have uncompromised utility.

I have the mach 1.6s in my HO and ended up having to install a stronger SBC clutch in it . on hot summer days you need to watch EGTs if your pulling real heavy loads in the winter its rare to see 1400* unless I run higher then 34 psi boost .as for milage if i keep it at 62 mph i can get a solid 24 mpg at 75 im down to 19-20 with the smarty on #9 1.6s will roll the smoke real bad and towing a big heavy trailer its hard not to smoke but with that said ...I realy like the 1.6 if for nothing else I get 11-12 mpg towing a 16950 lbs 5th wheel and have all the power i need . if your worried about EGTs do the mach 1s

I've heard of M1.2's as well...I think you can get them pretty much custom to what you're looking for...that's the great thing about these injectors...I am looking at doing this mod this year sometime.

I'm looking for good drivability and mpg...I have a smarty and have used it mostly on L3, but I am using L9 right now just for kicks. So do you guys think a M1 or M1.2 would be best for me. Spoke to Tim at TRE and he told me M1's would do fine but maybe consider 1.6's so I wouldn't have to upgrade down the road again if I wanted more power...but I'm thinking that may be too big for what I'm looking for, right?

I would go with the 1.6 injectors. Although smoke and
EGT's are subjective. What some people consider excessive
smoke and high EGT's ,doesn't bother others.

If you had a fueling box you'd want to turn that down. Smarty levels won't really change power much, but might make a difference on how much soot you get on the trailer.

AHHH yes definately a thought to consider since I'll be towing a WHITE Baja.
Thanks for the thought as I'd be cleaning soot off the pass side everytime I arrive at the launch ramp
