Lukes Link Help!

OOOOOK. Got the link on the tracbar and the polybushing in the axle end and it still clunks, not as bad as before but its still happening. Went around doublechecked shock mounts (top and bottom) all the control arm bolts and body mounts.

I tq'ed the castle nut to 70ftlb and the axle side to 145ftlb. Any body have any ideas?

I noticed that it will clunk on a left hand turn and as long as you keep making left hand turns it wont clunk, but the next right hand turn it will clunk. Same goes if you keep making right hand turns.

On the good side it did remove a lot of the wander from the steering.

Checked those ball joints? My 94 did the same thing you described....it was a slightly worn ball joint...

Any specific way to check ball joints?

Only reason I still think it has to do with the trackbar is that it got progressively worse until yesterday when I put the Link on and now its still there but really reduced.

Check that the side of the trackbar opposite the Lukes is tight with no movement. Occasionally they wear out also.

You might try tightening the cap on the Luke's Link a bit, that and adding another one of the washers included with the kit helped significantly on mine.

My truck makes a clunk when you make a right turn also. I found it to be a shot steering box. Just purchased the box and am going to install the strut frame support that puts a bearing on the end of the box to help it from flexing.

Seemed to go away for acouple days until yesterday when I had to drive up a muddy deeply rutted road for 10 miles then it came back worse as ever. I added another shim to the joint and upped the torque on the castle nut some more, see if that helps.
