Why cheap on the clutch? I have never used luk clutches and don't ever plan to. I have had such good luck with SBC that I would never use another clutch. You get what you pay for and if you buy a cheap clutch prepare to buy another clutch sooner or later because its not going to be as good as a better built higher HP clutch. Do it once do it right and forget about it.

Nothing cheap about a Luk clutch. They make clutches for OEM, and they make a premium unit for performance applications. Sure an SBC unit is great but I wouldn't turn down a Luk.

Luk sounds good for what he wants to do with it.

If you guys look at a SBC clutch it started out as a luk. Peter tweaks it and installs different lining. Luk is a great clutch but SBC is better.

Ushing some horsepower to it i wouldnt think twice about a SBC, much over stock it seems like most of the clutches out there dont have the life span of a SBC. So keep that in mind you might go through more than one cheaper clutch vs the life and service you'll get out of the SBC. Just a thought. I used to pull some large loads regularly, we went through several different clutches till we found one that would last, ultimately it turned out to be a SBC and i got over 200k miles pulling 30k lbs

If you ckeep your power at that level, you'll probably be fine.
Two buddies of mine did go with the Carolina Clutch, and both smokes it with over 400hp trucks.
