Here is the kit dodge offers.

I think you'll have to measure because not all front springs provide the same ride height.

Dug this thread up because I am getting ready to do this and need some last minute opinions. I found these (link below) blocks on ebay. Billet aluminum with steel pins. Was thinking of removing my blocks and putting these in instead. That way the truck would go from having 4.75in blocks to having 2.5 inchers essentially dropping the rear to about level. The total rear drop would be 2.25 inches.

Here are my questions...
1) Would this work?

2)Are these the right dimensions, I am at school right now and cant measure for myself. My truck is a 2001 2500 4x4 and I believe it has the camper package. So are these the right blocks? Maybe someone feeling reallllly nice could measure or someone realllly smart knows off the top of their head. The kit says these are 3"x5".

3)Is this the right amount of drop to achieve level or just slightly be high in the back? Again cant measure myself...

3)Anything else small that I would need that I am forgetting other than Ubolts?

I would like to order these today or tommorrow so some quick advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex

5 1/2L x 2 3/4W x 4 3/4H is what I'm showing on my truck, 99 w/camper package.

Mike, your the man buddy, The ones on ebay say 2.5 inches high but they offer a wide range of them(1, 1.5,2,2.5) (the tallest being 2.5). I figured if I went any lower Id end up with...well...a saggy butt!!!

So according to your measurements these should work for what I want?

Thanks again,
Alex

Oh, forgot to ask, if you get a chance to look at your truck again, would dropping it 2.25in bring it level or close to it. I just dont want to end up with the rear lower, that would look worse yet.

I guess the easiest way to get this measurement would be measure the tire to fender difference on the fronts and then the rears?

Thanks,
Alex

Anyone priced the Dodge kit to see what they want for it?

Wouldn't mind going this route as I think doing a leveling kit up front would make me too tall to fit in my garage, especially once I switched to tires that look right with a leveling kit.

On my truck it's 2" difference. I think you'll be pretty darn close to level, maybe .25" higher in the rear with those blocks.

I am hoping so. But the total drop would be 2.25in. Which might leave me .25in lower in the back? Hmmm I have almost new bilsteins in the back, think they make my truck alittle higher than yours? I think I might try them. Even if I were the teeniest bit low in the back I doubt you could tell. or I could somehow space it up. For the price, and the apparent quality, it seems worth a shot. I mean I would have to get my stock ones machined and then I could never go back. For 50 bucks Id say its worth a shot?

What do you think?

Thanks again for getting that measurment!

It seems as though everyones truck is different. I remember clunk took off like 1.5 and then someone else took off 3? Thats why Im not sure exactly how much it would really take to get it level. 1.5 inches is a pretty big difference between those guys trucks!

Lower? Check my math, 4.75-2.50=2.25, difference from front to back = 2" leaving .25". What am I missing?

I imagine the condition of everyone's rear springs plays into the numbers. I had a buddy with a '99 4x4 and his truck sat almost perfectly level the day he sold it with all stock parts. Springs lost quite a bit of arch from years of heavy loads.

Spring rates in the front can play a difference too, if someone has the plow package for example.

Well here is how I see it. Stock = 4.75 New Blocks = 2.5 Difference between old and new = 2.25

This means that I will essentially be dropping the rear 2.25in, I think your math would be dead on if I was machining off 2.5in but I am replacing them with 2.5in blocks so the difference is 2.25 not the new height.

Make any sense, this is my reasoning at least.
