Loud mufflers?
I wanted to know if anybody knows of a louder 4" muffler than the Banks muffler I have now? My brother put a straight pipe in his, I don't want it that loud though.

I like the sound of my DTT. Initial "dump truck" sound upon accelleration turns into a slightly hissy, but throaty note. Good turbo whistle too. I have mine on installed in the "quiet" orientation.

The Dynomax Race Magnum Bullet is only $35 through Summit, may have to try it. ANy drawbacks to running a muffler that is much smaller body diameter than my current Banks muffler which is huge?

Aeroturbine
You might consider replacing the Banks muffler with an Aeroturbine which has a nice throaty engine sound. Also when the Aeroturbine is installed as far forward as possible it can help lower EGTs noticeably.

Tough question. Inside the cab if the Aeroturbine is placed under the passengers feet as far forward as possible its not much louder than stock, but a much deeper sound. Out the tail pipe louder than Banks but not as loud or raspy as a straight pipe. the sound file on our website will give you some idea of the engine sound from the tail pipe produced by the Aeroturbine, but its hard to get an idea of loudness from an internet sound file. I'm running the aeroturbine and really like the sound. It is almost straight pipe loud, but without any drone. I think you would be really happy with the sound you get. its sort of unique, compared the regular flow-through mufflers
