No, they didnt start making short bed's till the 98 model year. Thats why that year is the most desireable. Its the last year of the 12 valve, first year of the new style dash, first year for the opening rear extended cab doors, and the first year you could get a shortbed.

Yes, I plan on getting lucky or getting a 24 valve pretty much. I want the doors on the x-cab and a SWB. I mean I am not opposed to 94-97 12v but it would have to be the right deal.

I had no idea my truck was so desirable! I have a 98 2500 12 valve quad cab short bed CTD. It'll pull down a house! Not letting her go ant time soon unless I see a good 2500 third gen four door short bed CTD.....
