I would upgrade the fuel system, first off. After that the power stuff like fueling boxes (old fashion comp box) and big set of sticks.
I ran 670rwhp for over a year, the first trip out, my OD unit was burnt out. The RE47/48 automatics have a limited life span behind a big power CTD. If your going to put some power down, buy as much transmission as you can afford.
For $1k-1.4k cash, fuel system like a fass or air dog, gauges.
After that if you have any money left over fueling boxes (tons of options), injectors, turbos, and transmission. You could even throw a 12v or 6.7L under the hood pretty easy.
Seen lots of high miler big power 53 blocks, and cracked non 53's blocks.
