Looking for boost #s with PS 62 or HTT 64

I am getting studs in on May 2nd, then i will be looking to upgrade my turbo to either a Phat Shaft 62 or 64 or a HTT 62 or 64. What is the maximum PSI that these turbos can run and still be efficient? The head studs will allow me to run 60 PSI and still be safe. Which turbo would you guys recomend, they both look like a good product, thanks for your time

I believe

that the phat shaft is 64mm and the super fat shaft is either 66 or 68.....

With your mods I would look at a SPS 66. One of my friends has one and it spools pretty quick and he probably doesnt have the power you have. I believe the main difference between the phat shaft and the super phat shaft, is that the SPS has a bigger exhaust housing and wheel.

It is in the exg=haust housing.... Different wheel and a ton more machining.

great, thanks for all your replies, I just got a good price on a SP66 by HTT. Do you think this would be good for my setup? Thanks again

I have been told that the HTT SP66 is basically the same thing as the phat shaft 66 and for only a couple hundred dollars more I would get the SPS 66 there is a good price on one in the classifieds.

I guess the Super 66 has just been updated it was having a problem with surging when pulling, but I just put the newest one on my truck.

I've ran the SPS62, PS 64, and SPS66

The SPS62 is a good turbo and is what I ended up with, but it doesn't quite keep me cool like I wanted, this was a trade-off for the street manners it has. The PS64 I think I the best turbo II has, it cools better then the 62 but still has good manners, but with my setup it had a weird "surging" (not barking) issue. The SPS66 is a performance turbo only. It had very bad street manners. Towing was out of the question, and spool up was very slow. But it did the best of controlling EGT's and would make a good turbo for a Drag/Pulling truck.

Ya I am pretty sure that they fixed the surging problem on the 66.

Ya it's called the "Silver Bullet" there still doing some testing on it, sound like it's going to be a good turbo but I think it's around $2200

spool up was slow with the PS66 even with the CATCHER? When i added my CATCHER to my setup, the Super 40 spooled better then a stock turbo. I want to have good driveability on the road, not to much smoke ect, but i also want performace at the pulls and the strip. Maybe I should Stick with a 64 and not go to a 66. Input would be great, thanks
