Looking at 5spd! need help.
I have been looking on autotrader to find some good deals. There seems to be more auto's that manuals. But i have found a good 5spd and it is the right price. My ex. diesel had the 6spd and i loved it. Now i dont pull trailers or anything like that i just want one for pleasure. Is there any difference or anything that i should worry about when i start moding? I want to get a manual because when i need a clutch i wont be able to afford all the stuff for the auto's. Even tho they are sweet to drive all fixed up.
Thanks for the help

Ya that is the only difference that i can remember. oh sorry, yes it is a 2001 reg.cab 3/4 ton. 5spd. 4x2. I was just wondering of performace wise. If i need to look out for different things. I heard the the TST was ok on the SO pumps. And was no good on the HO's.? is this true?

Ya my buddy has the same truck that i listed and he is getting around 20 mpg. Im not sure what i was asking on this tread, i just was wondering if the 5spd trans i guess performs as good as the 6spd. I really loved how hard the 6 pulled (as far as gassing on it), when i floored it! I want to add maybe injectors, gauges, smarty, afe, edge comp "hot", and thats about it. I wanted to get a standard because i wont be able to put in a tc when it comes time. Are the auto's really that awesome when it is all fixed up?
Thanks for the replys

Well my buddy was telling me(he has a auto) that if i change out the tv and vb early i wont have to change all of it. Because i will catch it before i mess it all up. Any thoughts on this?
