Lock up switch??

I went hunting the other day and when i was on the highway it felt like the tranny didnt want too stay in o/d. So i switched out of o/d, but it kept dooing it. So i came too the conclusion that it must have been trying too jump in and out of lockup. Shut the truck down for breakfast, went hunting, and it hasnt done it since including the 800 mile trip home.

What could cause this problem? I just had a remote start installed about a week before, but there where no problems for the 800 mile trip down too manitoba.

Thanks, Jon

One of two possibilities for the converter locking and unlocking and/or shifting out of OD: Your TPS/APPS sensor or tranny temp sensor. Do a search for APPS reset procedure. If that doesn't work do a search on diagnosing the APPS and tranny temp sensor. The connector from the wiring harness to the temp sensor can sometimes get dirty and cause an intermittent connection. I have been lucky in the past by spraying some contact cleaner or brake cleaner in both ends of the connector and then coating them with dielectric grease and the problem went away.

Good luck.......

The latest "thing" going around is there's electrical noise inerrupting signals in the harness. Try looking around Fritz's ( dodgeram.org )site for the fix...it involves installing an inexpensive Radio Shack electrolytic capacitor by the PCM. I know the p/n is 272-1017, but I haven't looked much further than that.

Now that I think about it, DTT also sells the capacitor in a little kit with instrucions and all.
