local tranny rebuild guy

Price seem cheap for all the work
Also double check the convetor stall 900 rpm sound way low, should be more like 1400-1600 rpm, I just pickup a triple loc in that range with 5000 miles on it, the guys i getting it from need a looser TC to build boost. .

900 is the flash stall...not sure what the difference is, but it is rated identical to the tci...in fact I am almost 100% sure that this is a tci converter packaged for wholesale

All done...picked up the tranny today He showed me some of my old parts and man were they trashed. He was surprised the truck even moved even more shocked when I told him it shifted half way decent too.
I should have it all installed by monday...I know I am slacking, but I am actually going out of town thurday...gots take the old mans 12V to pull my race trailer. Oh well it gets good fuel mileage at least and its an extra cab so I have some spare room.
Oh it did wind up costing an extra $350 because there were some additional goodies needed

got the tranny in and installed and I cant believe how different the truck runs. My tranny must have been alot worse then I ever thought. The pull is unreal...though now that my tc does not slip it wont build boost as fast. The shifts are firm and quick and there is a very noticable rpm difference now post shift where there was almost none before.
the stall is actually close to 1100 or 1200 but is much lower then the old tc
the truck seems to smoke alot more then before, I assume that is because it takes longer to build boost now

With a tighter TC you can jumper your EZ for less low boost fueling- this will reduce smoke and improve mileage a bit. (You'll need more pedal and will let the tranny downshift and build boost quicker)
Congrats on the new tranny and have fun
