You guys are all very correct, he sold AutoMeters and he praised them left and right. I would have pulled the 1/2 off trick on the Isspro's he had, but none of them were the gauges I wanted--they weren't the EV series. I have nothing against AutoMeters, but the looks don't match the OEM gauges in my opinion.

Thanks for the replys guys, I'm sold on Isspro.

well, he is partly correct....the non-EV series ISSPRO guages are quite difficult to see at night - EV's (enhanced visibility) are way better.

If ISSPRO is junk anyone want to sell me one of their fuel pressure gauges? Then all I will have to do is figure out where to mount it next to my other Junk ISSPROs.

His main two reasons for not stocking them any more were
1) The bulb replacements were hard to get (can see that as a problem with the internet around)
2) They "crap out", whatever that means.

I'm going to call tomorrow and act like someone else and jerk his chain around.

That's just funny! The ISSPRO bulbs are T3-1/4 Wedge Base bulbs. They're widely available in any truckstop or even Walmart. I picked up a set of green 194 bulbs at Walmart for $.97 and they match the factory green/blue backlighting perfectly. Here's a cross reference for the guages. I wonder if the AutoMeter's use any of these?

Code:
No. Volts Watts Amps Avg. CP Life
161 14.0 2.66 0.19 1 4000
158 14.0 3.36 0.24 2 3000
194 14.0 3.78 0.27 2 2500
192 14.0 4.62 0.33 3 2000
168 14.0 4.90 0.35 3 1500

Did not know that. I'm going to call today and make sure he doensn't have any EVs at the other store they have. If they are such terrible gauges, he should let go of them for a discounted price. I'll make sure I throw in that piece of information you gave me.

Don't you just LOVE these vendors who try to build themselves up by trashing their competition or any product that they don't sell?

Well I'm also running ISSPRO gauges... and I am not content.
First off the pyro proved to be a waveometer after some days- it would wave at me like mad. (Cold engine, not running and reading 1400F on the pyro makes you wonder)

Then the FP gauge started rattling and after some minutes the gauge itself! started leaking.

I got them both replaced under warranty by the vendor, but it took a long time. (So I can't say whether the long delays were caused by isspro or the vendor)

My FP gauge is rattling again.

This is just my personal experience with them, I simply love the visibility of my EVs.
Their QC seemed a little shoddy since there were only 5 nuts for hte three gauges instead of the 6 needed.

Close to ten years on both of my trucks with Isspro.
Had a problem with a pyro gauge after about four years, couldn't believe it when they gave me a new one for free.
Hard to beat that.
Same bulbs as when new also.

I have also talked to a diesel shop and they said that they didn't like isspro gauges either. I would still get them for me but said a different type of gauge was much better, and more expensive if I remember right.

AlpineRAM,
Isn't there a way to hook up your gauges to that you don't get that vibration out of them? Or maybe that was for the boost gauge that I read, not sure.

SPA's rock......and they have a programmable idiot light so I don't have keep my eyes glued to the pyro when I stomp on it. After the cars stop whizzing by I can recall the peak temp to see how close I was to meltdown.

I really like the idiot light. Suits me right down to the ground

They are pricey, but after spending thousands on BOMBs what's a few hundred more?

Did I mention it has an idiot light?

I've got the isspro ev series and really like them. They are backlit and are very easy to see at night. The bulbs are available at almost every autoparts store. My fuel pressure guage(mechanical) rattled at first(installed with ss braided line) then bought 2ft of fuel line as a snubber and no more vibration.
