Since torque and HP are a fixed relationship and the dyno computes HP from tq, you can just use this formula (we just need the RPM Jim made the peak HP at):

Torque=HP*5252/RPM

HP=Torque*RPM/5252

That is a really big number and larger congratulations, but one thing I have a little problem with. Jim says torque does not matter in the HP game. So I said at Muncie we combine both numbers. Example:......... 710 HP and 1400 lbs of torque. Total number 2110 .............. I just think the torque number in the quarter, for the first 1/8th mile, is torque. From there HP is the name of the game.

I think the no's will be combined on the dyno runs. It will be kinda neat. Largest total wins the pot. What do ya think?

DavidTD's Dyno Jet has software that goes to 1500 on the torque number. That's the one that will be at Muncie.

I still think there's some of the trucks that could top 1500. I'm also in favor of changing the contest for the best added numbers on #2 only.

hmm.... Are there still spots left for the Muncie dyno?

you need to set up a little equation to run the backwards HP formula for all hp/rpm points, the peak torque is not going to be found up where the peak HP was found, esp. on a diesel.

Thanks for the complements guys, got in last night from the 19 drive with no issues and no breakage during the trip, did have one exhaust leak though.

Rick, I didn't pull out all of the HP for fear of kicking a head gasket and having to fix it there.

The ole' girl is a little tired with allot of wear and some piston slap from that but I've calmed that down a bit(if you've heard it idle)

I did get the final push though from Joe Donnelly saying(what ever you do don't stop now) so I'll keep going at it starting with a fresh shortblock(PDR) and a cam then I'll play with some ideas!

Mine reads 1500hp/1500TQ. As long as we have RPM we can calculate the TQ via RPM... But, might be too much to deal with during Muncie when I barely have time for a pee break.
