I ran my 4 inch over the tank with no flex pipe. It is difficult, and it looks as though it cannot be done, but with a little crafty metal work it is possible and it installs VERY clean (Way better than having all that CRAP in your bed). Flows better too. I have no problems with heat or clearance over the tank but like I said it takes a lot of work and a lot of dry fitting and cutting and more dry fitting and cutting and welding ... etc... I got my stacks from a local chrome shop for 150$ (pair of 5 inch turnouts ).The rest of the system I made in my shop (besides the 90s) including the "Y".

I stand (sit) corrected. I tried to put a section of 5" up there for kicks and it didn't feel like going there.

Is it wrapped with heat proof material then?

brandon.

I got a few questions on stacks. Now, you have your turnouts, and straights with angles-what does it do when it rains, or snows? If it snowed, it would pack the exhast tube, choking it off? I LOVE stacks. But, I have whips and a tool box, so I would have to run them outside the bed, do you think it would look right? Anybody got any pics of their stack setups?

Thanks

I found em at Berubes.com . I will call them and see what the "hole" deal will cost. The pair of 5"x48" Angles are just up $145.00 for the pair, not bad with what I've seen.

I will run a single pipe up the center of the bed and "Y" off in the bed. I have a tool box that I will slide foreward a bit and then fab a piece of polished alum diamond plate to cove the open gap. It will match the tool box and looks good to. One of the other members that posted on this set it up that way, and looks clean.
Looks like I have to dump $400.00 into the snomachine now, (riped the shock mount in half at 75mph, tore it all up ) If it's not one thing it's another with toy's! So I will order the stacks, fix the sled and then wait till the other next pay day to get the rest of the plumbing.

To many toy's and not enough money!

I think MCummings has stacks outside the bed on his 3500. I think it would look really wierd on a 3/4 ton.

Stay inside the bed and cut off even with the cab. Looks awesome.

48's will be too tall if you want to stay even with the cab unless you want to cut them off. I personally like the tall ones and believe I get a better sound with the extra length.

If you want to stay even with the cab, I would order their 36's.
Look at the pics on my first page below to see what the 48's will do for you.

It would have to snow an awful lot, and perfectly straight down, to actually block a mitre cut stack. Any snow that made it in would blow out/melt quickly. Turnouts will have no problem at all.

Y do the Y in the middle of the bed? Y not come up thru the passenger side and run a Y from there across the the drYvers side? Afterall, its coming from a single anYwaY and its not reallY going to alter the performance anY. Less piping and altering this waY

No, it won't hurt power, but you won't get matching smoke your way. The left stacks smoke would look weak and girly compared to the smoke from the right stack.

We cannot have a girly stack no way.

I'll go sit in the corner now.

Yep, what he said. Mine smoke evenly, not girly like.
Scotty is kinda girly anyway.

(I can say that cause he's 2600 miles away)

The stack bug has now bitten me too! I just showed my wife a picture of a stacked truck, and she said that she "used to really like my truck before all the goofing around!" And of course I blamed you all....

I am thinking I will need to get rid of the toolbox and go with 6" X 36" miter cut stacks. Check out my picks, lemme know what you think that would look like.

Me thinks coooolllll!

Matt
