Question Lifting a 2002

I want to lift, or level the front end of my truck. I just want to use the spacers. How is the drivability after that has been done? What is the biggest tires I can go with, with this set up? Do I need to replace my shocks and steering stabilizer? If so, what brand do you guys find best? Can I put these spacers in myself with basic tools?

FWIW, I'd skip the spacers. For about $10.00 more you can buy replacement springs that ride better than stock. As for shocks everyone is going to tell you something differant. The install is pretty easy. All you need are hand tools (air tools make it go faster), a floor jack, a bottle jack, and some jack stands. Takes about 2 hours.

I put the spacers in and am happy with the results. I personaly know 2 people with just the spacers that are running 35's with no problems. I just have the stock 265/75/16. As far as brand I am happy with the Tuff Country because they are steel. My friend has the Daystar which is poly. It seems to work I just dont like the idea of poly in this situation.

Where would I get the springs from?

Most folks run Skyjacker's D25 coil springs. That's what I've got in mine. Since the coils give a 2" lift, I put new shocks with a 2" longer stroke than the stockers. You will get various responses as to what shocks to put on. I have Pro Comps now, but will probably replace them with Bilsteins soon.

if i got longer shocks and that problem was solved...could i use the skyjacker D25 coils in addition to my current 2" space for 4" of lift...or would i need to get long control arms then?

i love to get 2" more out of it without a full blown lift kit...but i dont wanna half a$$ it and cause myself more problems

I didn't have any vibe when I had the 2inch spacers on.
I do have the vibe with the 4.5" skyjacker though.

Every truck is different, some will vibe with the 2inch, most won't.

If you want to do it on the cheap, as far as the front shocks go, I saw some stud extensions in a NAPA catalog once. This will solve the travel problem, but again this is on the cheap.

I put the skyjacker springs on mine about a year ago. Seems like i paid like 150 for them and I put them on. I do have vibration at like 40mph and around 80-85. Think the tires are part of the vibration. I get bad wear on them when it is doing it. I also changed out the shocks with the skyjacker nitro 8000's about 2 months ago, helped out in the ride a whole lot. Was thinking i was about to break something topping the shocks out on speed bumps.

I have a set of 2" tuff country spacers"For Sale" items in classifieds only . I ran 285 BFG mud terrains on the truck with them. I had to lift the truck 4.5" to get 315 under it.
