lift pump question

I have a stock in tank lift pump.
I would like to upgrade to a higher pressure pump and big line kit.
Any ideas on which pump is best and can I keep the intank pump to help?
Any install photos would be a big help. Thanks to all

At miniumum, get a "Draw Straw 2", Vulcan big line kit and put a pump on the frame. Stock intank pump can stay there and rot....

Or do a whole fuel system upgrade using the "Draw Straw 2"

Arrow Your Lift Pump Has Been Relocated Already.....

From what I have been told (and by Eric at Vulcan Performance who looked at my truck which is also an 02) the in-tank pump is a dealer fix, NOT OEM from the factory. If it's in the tank, originally they didn't come like that from the factory, at least in 02. My big Service Manual says the same thing and only shows a picture of the side mounted lift pump there behind the fuel filter. It could be a warranty fix or it could be the original owner just needed or wanted it done and no warranty was used or was there... (on my truck) who knows?? The fix Vulcan recommends is to drop the tank, remove the dealer fix in-tank pump, install Vulcan's Draw Straw kit and then install their FASS kit. Total bill to FASS my truck, including the Draw Straw, the bio compatible fuel line, another small fuel filter, out the door was $507. That's a worse case scenerio I might add. If it was a stock setup, I wouldn't have to drop the tank and all of that but once done that's the last time I'll have to even think about it so it's worth it in the long run. Especially if you plan on keeping the truck for awhile. And it beats replacing the VP-44 pump too.

Which FASS is that? That is just the pump correct?

That price must be the pump only. My FASS kit was much more than that and I bought it from Eric at Vulcan.

NO!!!!!!! It's NOT the pump only!! It's the COMPLETE 95 gph kit minus the fuel/water separator. The top of the line FASS kit sells for just under $700. The kit I purchased from Eric lacks the fuel/water part of the setup but is nonetheless a KIT that has everything you need to install a FASS setup on your Dodge Cummins truck. I added the Draw Straw kit & upgraded to the bio compatible fuel line as I use biodiesel frequently to make up for any shortcomings in the ULS diesel and I added one of Eric's small in line fuel filters. He mentioned something about many people thinking this setup I purchased was not a complete FASS system/setup BUT IT IS!!
Don't believe me?? Go ahead and call Eric @ Vulcan (HE'S VERY BUSY but hopefully you'll be ordering one of these too!! ) I'll bet you anything he's going to tell you what he told (and sold) me....that there's 2 different FASS kits. One that includes the fuel/water separator for just under $700 and one that doesn't that costs about $450. BOTH KITS HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN THE BOX TO FASS YOUR TRUCK....

** This is the Dealer's "PUMP-IN-THE-TANK-FIX" FASS KIT as put together by Eric @ Vulcan Performance, upgraded for BIODIESEL use and costs $507 + shipping. Honest....

i believe that is what they meant by the "pump only" kit. i conned the dealership into giving me back my old fuel sending unit when they put in my in-tank setup. i'm just waiting for the warranty to go out so i can put the old unit back in with the FASS.
