lift pump?
my grandpaw has a 2001 3/4 with a nv5600, edge ez (i think, its 65 hp) and today we just put some 75 hp jammers in. his truck seems to idle a little rough now and he wants to get a new lift pump, he isnt going for any more power and doesnt want to break the bank so i was thinking maybe a holley blue or something. i really dont know much about them ,any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does he have a fuel pressure gauge? It is a good idea in general of VP trucks, and most people will tell you it is a must have if you make any mods at all. With a gauge he will see if his LP is keeping up with the fuel demand.
As far as upgrading it, there are tons of options from Holleys, to Walbros, to Airdogs and FASS. If you just buy components, you can keep the cost below $200 for a Walbro based upgrade. I have heard of only one Walbro failure so far, and I think that one was related to the bypass regulator, too.

i know a guy that got a hot rod vp and a fass 150/w filters.........spend dang near 3000 on the fuel system and didnt get a Fp gauge.....long story short fass pump shorted out or something and wiped out the new vp........IMO 700 fass set up does the same job as a 120 holley pump just get a gauge

Anything that delivers fuel to VP44, be it a Walbro, a FASS, or a stocker will work while it is working. The cost of FASS and other out-of-th-box systems is high but you get a complete kit, bolt it on and go, plus a warranty. If you are short of cash, or technically inclined, or both, you can build your own that is just as reliable and save a bunch. Gaining understanding about your truck's fuel system is an impotrant bonus of the latter approach.

I have an AD150 but only because I won it on another forum. Until I installed the AD I had a holley blue inline with the factory LP. I had to trim the spring in the bottom a little to get it below 20psi but it ran perfect for two years and supplied plenty of fuel for my setup. I would definetley recommend a FP guage though.
