Hell bent steel was the way I went. Got a great deal on them bought them from another member of DTR.
Only problem I had during installation was on the drivers side. The top nut on the shock is pretty hard to get to, I suggest using a stubby box end wrench. I think it was an 18mm, but that was over a year ago.
Oh and I also might suggest forgetting coil spring compressors. They are extremely dangerous. The best thing I found was use with your truck already lifted up on jack stands. Use your floor jack to compress the spring, remove supporting hardware as required then slowly lower the jack. Since your truck is already on jack stands the axle with drop low enough to remove the shock and coil spring.
Any questions PM me. Good luck and be safe.

on both trucks I ran BDS allum spacers. They were about 150$ I think. Worked out great. 2" of lift and I used a skyjacker ad-a-leaf for the rear to keep things "correct" as I like to think. I dont like a level truck. The bds spacers seemed very sturdy and didnt hurt the ride. I didnt change my suspension at all I didnt even need an allignment. I was able to run h2 take offs with it. The rear add-a-leafs worked out well too. I still have the add-a-leafs for sale, new and used sets. I will say the BDS shocks wer really bad. The truck rode like a brick with no suspension whatso ever. I ended up getting billstiens and they are much smoother. Rides better then our explorer now

The poly spacers are too weak for the weight of our engines. For a half ton they are great. I had two friends that bought them because of the price. Both had the Cummins. They both had one that split after about a year. I went with Hell Bent Steel and a set of Rancho shocks while I was in mechanic mode. There is no need for new shocks really. No problems to speak of and a simple install.
