Is the leadwire long enough on an isspro 5659 trans temp gauge
I am installing my gauges and I have a isspro 5659 trans temp gauge. It is the one with the amplifier box .The wire from the box to the temp probe thing that goes in the line is only 3 feet.is that long enough to reach the port in my 95 line.is 3 feet from inside the firewall to the line long enough.thanx

I'm going to say PROBABLY. I've got one to put in here too.
Unfortunately, my '96 doesn't have the fitting already in the line, so I don't know exactly where that would be on yours. (My sender is currently in the trans pan.)
I'm going to have to plumb one in with compression fittings, something that has been done successfully my many members on this site. I'll probably be shooting for close to the heat exchanger, but far enough away from the exhaust.
Other considerations are- exactly where are you going to go through the firewall (existing or new hole), where will you mount the circuitbox, and where are your gauges going?
As I'm sure you're aware, the instructions say the leads FROM the circuitbox to the gauge can be lengthened.
Good luck. After some crawling around under the dash, and the truck, the answers should fall into place.

Here's a quick update (I did a little crawling around under mine today):
There is a bracket that supports the large wiring harness plug, right by the boot or grommet you mentioned. This looks like a really good place to mount the [two] amplifier box[es] (trans temp & pyro). A little checking with the tape measure confirms the lead should be just right as SHOVELHEAD mentioned.
Note: You can extend the leads from the box to the gauge, not the leads from the box to the sender. An exception is on the pyro where extentions are available, and you can actually just make your own.

thanx for checking it all out under there.I fastened the trans temp box right there by the grommet to some wires and it was long enough but not by much.,I had to run to radio shack for the resistors so I wont have it in there until tommorow.they are all hooked up and look good.I put the pyro box close to the hood latch lever by that big loom of wires.

on my 95 i hooked in to where the stock sendor is in the trans line so I have to put a resistor in the plug so it will shift into od and not give an error.
On your 96 its supposed to be internal so you have to use a test port or make something work like use a plumbing t with compression fittings.
