Could have been...but I never had stock tires. Truck was on 33x12.50-16.5's when I bought it, and I went to 235/85R16's. Speedo was off with either set according to the GPS.
I don't know how far it actually is...but at 50mph on the Speedo, MPS says 59mph. The only thing I need to know is it's off...how far doesn't matter untill I try and change it!

GPS is telling me 18%...at 59mph, the speedo shows 50mph. 59/50=1.18, or 18%
I like a proportional tire..not a little tiny wheel and 40" tires...I also needed plenty of weight capacity in case I ever have to pull something...farm equipment can be heavy! Not too mention I've never seen another one set up like this...the rest of the truck is different, might as well make it a package
Thanks for all the comments guys, glad to hear I'm doing OK with it!

With the above proportions, each sidewall is 25% of the tires overall diameter.
For nice proportions, it's hard to beat a 285/75 or 305/70 on a 16" wheel.
For 315s, I prefer the look of 17" or 18" wheels.
Then there's the 19.5s, which seem to look good with ANY tire on them
