KSB-1/B2 Twins
#36
Thanks for the pic. I'm gonna be taking my tial wastegate apart this weekend to see if maybe something's stuck part way open that's causing the howling I'm hearing from the turbo and the slow spoolup I'm getting off of the line.

id have to agree with you there
But what good is having twins when u cannot use them to their full potential? IE me and my 50 psi setup, i have to actually limit it out due to a stock head gasket, and no studs, believe you me its fun till i hit the 50 psi that i have my setup gated too,
Now i would say ur actually two short on here, u need studs a head, and shafts, im not sure how a manual holds up tho, but im sure over 600 rwhp i would need a big input shaft and a dual disk clutch
If i was you, id do the shafts first then play tyler, believe me its nice to have the stuff, but it stinks when u cant use it...
Oh yeah, why not try and get JoeFarmers setup for your truck? im sure that would get u closer to ur goal.... Actually talk to Blackdiesel, he has similar goals with a truck of the same year as yours..
Best of luck man

you rang?
well blue, your on the right track. When i install the SO vp im hoping to hit 550-575 hp. Then comes the cam and twins. which should letter breath better and bump me up to 650 ish (hopefully) then the nos. Which will throw me well into the 700's.
if you want to hit 700's on #2 alone you are looking at one large task. Im sure its possible on at vp but it would make it a lot easier (and cheaper i would think) with a p pump.
i dont believe there is a turbo out there that you could upgrade your ksb with to make it worth the difference for a twin setup. So just throw a b2 under neath whatcha got and some shafts.

I am assuming that you are running the built in gate on the 62/14 and an external gate on the primary. I you don't mind, what size external gate are you using to hold back the B2? I'm getting ready to try Mach 6's in my truck but the 1.2's are already getting 32psi out of the primary. I'm going to need a gate in my hotpipe for sure.

ah, well your looking at some mach 6's or 7's. I would probably go 6's because ive herd taht 7's idle rough in cold weather? not sure about that though.
but youve already got the tst comp. i would deffiently compleatly rebuild the head while you o ring it. like valves and guides and springs. throw a cam in there and a b2 with it and youll be at about 650 with any luck.

That's my plan. Aren't 7's nitrous injectors? This truck has to run good cause it is my daily driver and I plan on keeping it for a very long time (it's only got 117k on it). I'd like to be able to afford to do everything on the head at once but being in college ain't gonna allow that. I'm barely scraping up for studs. Once I do have to pull the head I think I'm gonna go ahead and have it ported real nicely and do a complete rebuild on it with o-rings. There will be a helix 2 going in sometime that's for sure. Still debating porting the head.
