If I was to sell this ksb-1, what would yall recommend I get in place of it? I need something that's gonna half way support my needs right now and still be a great turbo for a secondary on twins. I ain't impressed with my buddy's super b but I hear so many good things about it maybe I should give it another try? What about a 62? I know a lot about these trucks but when it comes to building twins I'm still a little in the dark so sorry for all of the questions.
a wastegated full B1...great single and i think it would work great for twins...but i dont want twins so i need a bigger single

And I'll bet I know where I could find one to. I'm sorry but I just don't see how a b1 could spool even halfway decent with a tight automatic.

IMO - Being over 500 hp, no good secondary twin turbo is going to do you any better (as a single) than what you have now, unless your willing to live with fair amount of lag on your twins by going with a 14 cm turbine housing.

Chris is the expert, But I believe All B-1's are 62 mm compresser bores, so the PS62 won't do you anything.

Temporary bigger housing on yours would work.... but not cheap.

I think Hunter had a bigger turbine housing on his Super B. Wasn't it used? You could switch with him, temporarily... for lower egt's

I believe that B-1 was once Chris' and has been reworked? Might do OK? Where is our undervalved turbo expert?

I know it does... but what have you to compare it to. (Don't even know how many horses you got)

I think my point was the HX-35/S400 would never get BB to 700 HP.
How's that for backtracking?

well on my 6speed it works like a charm, at 500hp it spools just like a stock truck would unless you put it in 6th at 20mph and lug it LOL.

its no overfueled hy-9 making 35psi in less than a second, but its no worse than riding in a stock truck and waiting for the turbo to spool.

that hx-55 i had was a lag pig, this one is no where near it. i found a combo that works and im keeping it! (for a few months)

There is one guy I am aware of who did 700 with a VP truck with his nitrous bottle off. But what was missed by most was there was still nitrous in the lines that sprayed and gave him the spike to hit it.

The combo you are looking at should make around 630 RWHP on #2 with some bigger sticks.
Doug

C-Hawk had to be pretty close with his 40/3b Combo wouldn't you think?

Nope..... thats whats funny, he was running an 35/40 hybrid I believe. I would put him in the 630-640 range. His truck just ran dang awesome.

I think you should plan on billet shafts before buying twins.....i'd hate to see you make over 600 on the stockers.

10-4, I agree! Then you could build some boost at launch. Ahh, the possibilities!

You did say it has to be reliable.....right . Get the trans fixed for the power first, other wise it will cost you more in the end...........ask me how I know this . I run a full size B1 with an auto and it spools just fine, even with my smarty on half power setting. I have a quik spool housing that I run from time to time also, but drive pressure is up with it to. 70+ psi with the KSB1 is risking popping a head gasket, even with o-rings. Run the Tial external gate, that's what I have and it works like a charm. I've been running this combo for 3+ years now with no issues ( well hardly any).
