k&ns suck i had a set on my dune buggy and every trip out i had to tare them down to blow the sand out cuz it would foul the carbs .no more problems with a paper filter

This was not under a microscope this was new in the box held up to the lights in a store... You could visibly see holes of light in the element. I look at three (3) different ones and gave up...

As for trusting thiese fine hiars... Nope... I'll stick with the paper version. I'm also saving up for a BHAF filter...

The AFE in my Scotty works great. I recently cleaned it just cause I was bored. No oil in the tube or on the turbo. We'll see what happens after a few miles with the new turbo.

i had 2 K&N filters, the big cone types. They flowed great air, increased milage and noise. However I killed them both due to the heat under the hood and them resting on the inner fender wall. It slowly sogged up and messed up the mesh and created a big hole, not to mention the dirt and film all over the turbo fins.

Switched to the BHAF (Fleetguard)
Filters great, no dirt on the turbo yet. Obviously the trade off is that it does not flow as much air and it does not make the turbo whistle as loud

so its a double edged sword i suppose
