K&N filter revisited

Hey Guys,
A while back there was a post (K&N problems). Well I was really waiting for my latest oil analaysis to come back. I meet with the NOCO rep today. The last test was after I took out my K&N equipted stock air box and installed a K&N tube style filter and heat shield. The oil only had about 5000 miles on it and for the most part the report was good but my silicone levels were 4ppm/ I was concerned about that # but after talking to some oil gooroos at the testing lab I found out that 4ppm is actually pretty good. (Especially with the service the truck sees). Well back to my latest analaysis. This time I put 12,876 miles on the oil and the test came out great wear metals almost all were 0. The iron was up to 31 but I think that was higher because I installed the new injectors just before I changed the oil. Fuel was 0.5 soot <.1 water<.1 and the oil still had plenty of life to it and my silicone was down to 3ppm. The oil rep said go 15-20,000 miles and test it again. So I guess I'll keep runnin the mobil1 oil and filter and I may just hang onto the K&N as well.

Thanks Topper!!
I have been running K&N filters in everything from my diesel to my quads and always been very happy. It is nice to know that someone is debunking the naysayers

Good deal. K&N is as good as any oiled filter if you ask me.
