I run just a K&N cone filter(part # RE-0880) that i picked up at auto zone for $50. Whistles like crazy, and i never find any dirt in my intake. Its never dirty in there. I would rather have an AFE, and if i were buying another, i would get an AFE probably, but a K&N is not bad i dont think. I have never heard of anyone whos had an engine/turbo failure from running a K&N filter.

No problems here.. just cleaned it not too long ago.. Its supposed to work better when its dirty though, and i really dont feel much more of a performance gain, we will see about mileage tho....

There was a thread a while back on TDR about a guy running a k&n. His turbo fins showed some "polishing" on them from the dirt that the k&n let in.

I searched a little today, but could find anything. I will post the link when I find it.

The RE-0880 is the earlier filter...smaller than the curent FIPK II cone filter.

Are you sure about that? Thsi is a pretty long filter, and its pretty big around too. I didnt think the ones in the cold air intakes were as big?

Never seen the two side by side. I had the 15-1525 filter. See here...
