Just got done trying it real quick.
Not bad. Truck's definitely more spirited when running out the shifts. Pulls a little more harder than before when getting on it. Power seems a little more refined also.
I didn't mess with the speed limiter, but getting to 100 seemed even faster than before.
Glad I finally got all of the downloading stuff figured out. It was worth it for this.

marco's visit
i spoke to bob wagner a couple of weeks ago and he said marco would be in usa around the 22nd of october and would be dyno-testing some horsepower and torque tunes for the 2nd gen trucks. anybody hear how that turned out?

Also, I thought Bob said about a month ago that us VP-44 guys would see 4000 rpms. It might already be out and I missed it but did anyone hear anything about this. When will the 4000RPM program be available to test???

I'm curious to know this as well, but I gotta say that I have no need for 4000 rpm whatsoever. I can see how a puller or racer would benefit from that, but for my street-oriented truck there's no need.
So the sw that "falls on its face" at 3500 rpm is just fine with me.
I can't wait to test this SW.

HOHN I have the last SW that came out which I think is the one you are talking about. With it, my truck fuels to about 3600, with a drag comp. If you want it I might be able to email it to you, thats what Bob did for me. Im not great on computers but I could try, let me know.
Yeah I cant wait for 4000RPMS but then again my truck is half daily driver and have drag racer, plus I have 4.10's and a 66 SB so I need all the RPMS I can get!

Didn't Marco pull all the latest software versions because of "issues"??? If not, I'd appreciate an emailed copy as well.

Marco was in the states (may still be here) perfecting the new beta SW's for the 3rd gen trucks and also the smarty junior I believe. He didn't really have any time to test and tune for the 2nd gen trucks (while I was there anyways).

The new software seems to correlate throttle position and rpms. I used to give er lets say 1/8 throttle and just hang in there until 2000 rpms before shifting when the trucks cold. But with the new software it will come up to 1800 rpms and stop there until I add more throttle input.
Can anyone mail the older sw to wckid@***.net? I lost a hard drive along with my copies of the old sw's

No TIME!?? To test or tune for the 2nd gens??? All I can say is I can't wait for the Race Box from quad to get finished beta testing!! At least someone still cares about the 2nd gen guys!

Testing and tuning takes time, and after meeting Marco, he isn't the type of person to rush anything. He takes the time to test things thoroughly and verify everything works as expected. He will get to the 2nd gens, its just a matter of time.

Worst part is that you don't even get a reply back when questions are asked. I have no complaints about the Smarty, works great on my truck & the new SW for the speed limiter is awesome. I am just amazed at how you automatic guys have been ignored with the shifting problems etc. I've only used my USB port one time since I got my Smarty & Quad has already sent about 30 updates to the Adreneline & XZT+ guys within weeks. I'm not sure why 2nd gen guys are being ignored, but I do think we are all just spraying in the wind here thinking these updates will come.
