Thumbs up Just off the DYNO! 813lbs Torque ?

I had my 12 Valver on a local Dyno this afternoon. It's a new Dyno and my truck was the 1st Diesel on it.

The owner didn't have an Optical sensor yet so he was not able to get engine RPMs read and was not able to calculate TQ numbers.

Without that, my truck pulled 279.6 HP w/60% LOAD at the rear wheels.

Rough calculated figures are around 350 HP/813lbs TQ at the flywheel!

The 215 pumps do very well with plates and bumped timing. My truck did 328/841 at the wheels last July, with only a #11 plate, BHAF, and 15* timing. My dyno sheets from that have disappeared, but I have the previous owners dyno sheets that did 313/666 in Texas in 03, with stock timing, and also at the wheels.

Your truck should do more than that, your plate is more aggressive than mine was. Good numbers either way.

Roger that. What numbers "should" my truck put out ???

BTW, I wasn't driving on the dyno, so I don't know if he had it "floored" or not.

I'll have concrete figures (next week hopefully) after he gets an optical sensor to pick up engine RPMs.

I want that truck!!! LOL, nice looking rig you have there. I'd say you should do at least 330/825, as your timing is little higher and helps with the upper rpm's a little more. Also, that dyno might not load the truck properly, skewing the numbers for you. I am by no means a dyno expert, just throwing this out there for you to think about.

What do you mean it won't load it properly ???? Can anyone shed more light on dynoing diesels ?

Depending on the dyno, if its a quick rip, you won't develop full load boost before its all over even if you floor it. You can do a little hot braking to get a better rip on it.

Thats one sweet ride. Nicer rig than mine by far. You selling it? Who cares about dynos. My last two pulls I could only put down 500rwhp and 900ft*lbs. I can break the tires lose at will with big air leaks. Mustangs or the older dynojets work better for us diesel guys. The new dynojet just likes tons of drugs. Did you do the pull in od or in 3rd gear? You can try OD, you load harder but its harder on transmissions/clutchs.

Thank you. Not really on the market, but everything is FOR SALE right ? Just offer the me a deal I can't refuse!

There's one very similar to mine on EBay (Item number: 180219781491) right now going for $15,795 (except it's a Longbed and has Cloth interior). The owner originally had it advertised as the "Rarest" truck.

Obviously, mine is rarer, since mine has the Shortbed AND Leather interior. I Emailed him about my truck and I see he's taken out "Rarest" from his ad!
He want's to buy mine, but hasn't shown me enough $$.

Yea, it's a brand new dynojet. Mine was only the (10th) vehicle to run on it.

Tons of drugs ???

The shop owner did the sampling run in 4th gear (my truck is a 5 Speed). IIRC, 4th is 1:1 right ?

4th is 1:1, you're right. Best to pull in 4th, less stress, however I still use full power on the highway in 5th.

Drugs... NOS, Water/meth etc. You need something to spool up fast and those do the trick.. If you watch some vids on the NWB site, you can see the brake lites come on just as they spool up then let fly. You need to get over that boost "hump", especially in a 12V, to get the fuel to come in with boost..

I have a buddy looking for a decent clean clean 12v five speed truck. Something in decent shape. You got any recent pictures? PM the pictures. I chat with the guy. Nice ride bud. I have to sink more money into the front end of the truck on my rig. Heck at least it paid for.
