Just lost slave cylinder
I got out of class about 15 mins ago and got in my truck and I came to a stop sign and the clutch wouldn't disengauge. The pedal goes all the way to the floor but is real soft. I haven't pulled it out and looked at it yet but I'm just making an educated guess. Is there anyone who sells a stronger one than stock? I have an OFE and I will upgrade to an FE and maybe a DD one day. Thanks in advance.

The slave for a 97 is better than the ones on the 24 valvers, I'm not sure what the difference is but the seem to work longer. From what I was told, the one for our trucks is also the part # for a manuel Dakota Thanks, DC

Ok guys, I have everything undone but there is no possible way I can get my fingers in that little box to unplug the neutral saftey switch! What happens if I just cut the wires? Will I have clutchless starting or will it not crank at all? Thanks

I got everything hooked up on the new slave cylider assembly from Dodge but I can't get the quick connect fitting thingy to hook together. I push as hard as I can and it won't snap in. Whats the secret?? Thanks

It's doubtful you have a bad slave cylinder, but rather a bad master. If the slave goes, the system will loose fluid at the slave. If the master goes the fluid is pumped back into the reservour and no fluid is lost. This is the common failure point.
The pre '98 masters are better and can be modified to fit newer trucks.
Southbend has the best prices on the individual pieces. You can also get them at NAPA. The dealer sells the hydralics as a complete pre-bled set, which is expensive but easier to install because ther's no simple way to bleed the system otherwise.
